New England Patriots QB Jacoby Brissett to be placed on injured reserve
Sources told ESPN's Ed Werder that New England Patriots backup rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who injured the thumb on his right throwing hand during the Patriots' 27-0 win over the Houston Texans on Sept. 22, will need surgery.The team announced Friday that Brisset will be placed on the injured reserve list.The Patriots, who are currently carrying 52 players on their roster, need to clear one more roster spot by Saturday to make room for both Tom Brady and defensive end Rob Ninkovich, who are coming off their four-game suspensions.
