The New England Patriots signed wide receiver and Pro Bowl special teams ace Matthew Slater to a one-year extension through 2017, according to reports Wednesday.The deal has a base value of $1.8 million -- $1.5 million of which is guaranteed -- and the maximum value is $1.95 million, a league source told ESPN's Field Yates.Slater, 30, is a five-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time first-team All-Pro as a special teams player.
